New York ISA Show Report: Messrs. Hallikainen, Schimbor, Waner and Alston attended the '64 International ISA show during the week of Octo- ber 11. The show was held in the Park Shera- ton Hotel in New York and reports are that it was a great success. In our exhibit the Gravitrol drew the most interest. Also during the week in New York Hallikai- nen Instruments held their annual sales break- fast in the Americana Hotel. Ken Kole and approximately twenty-five other sales represen- tatives attended. They were informed of company business during the past year and also received a report on the new plant in Richmond. Mixing pleasure with business Mr. Halli- kainen and Mr. Waner took advantage of being in New York to spend a few hours at the World's Fair. A&thur Alston found a moment to relax on his return trip and enjoyed a movie while in flight. And a very reliable red-headed source from the sales department reports that whilewatching a World Series Game on T.V. he saw a familiar face way back in the crowds - Mr. Schimbor's perhaps? Mr. N .S. Waner attended the Rocky Mountain Re- gional Meeting of the National Petroleum Refiners Association September 29 thru October 1. The meeting was held in Casper, Wyoming.

ISA Show Booth, New York Two Employees In Hospital: Our wishes for a speedy recovery go to P. C. Leung who is recover- ing from an auto accident which occurred on Oct. 5, and to Jewella Deffebach who underwent sur- gery Oct. 11. Reports are that they are doing well. We hope they are able to return soon. Vacations, Bah Humbug: The blur of figures and rustle of wind in the Sales Department is due to Mr. Schimbor's return from vacation. Camden, Connecticut is a beautiful place to be during Indian summer, but we know Mr. Schimbor spent most of his time thinking about all of the work that would be waiting for him upon his mond Civic Auditorium. During the meeting Mr. Waner presented two pa- pers co-authored by himself, Mr. Hallikainen and Arthur Alston. One paper covered a complete sur- vey of Analysis Instrumentation in current use in refineries, and the second paper discussed the specific application of On-stream Continu- ous Viscometers in Cut-back Asphalt Blending Systems. Mr. Waner reports the papers were very well received.

The ventilation system has been completely installed, tar paper is being applied to the roof, the exterior ply- wood sheeting is up and the window level beige brick facing is now being layed. Construction of the manufacturing building is also progressing rapidly. The concrete floor with all utilities installed is completed. At present the tilt-up concrete walls are being poured. After a two week curing period, they will be ready for placement.

De- lay to George?s schedule was incurred in clean- ing his water soaked clothing. Once on his way another delay occured because of accidents ahead on the turnpike. These delays caused the motel reservation for George to be canceled. After some friendly persuasion he obtained a room and was glad to retire thus ending a busy day. The next day promised to be bright until George, while avoiding an oncoming car, swerved the truck and lost a pair of his glasses through the window. Trouble comes in bunches and George's bad luck was holding out. On the way to his evening stop, he gallantly offered to repair a flat tire. Ever tried to use a truck jack on a Corvair? At 3:00 A.M., hot, tired and dirty, George checked into the only hotel in a small Pennsylvania town. Anything looks good when one can clean up and relax, but alas, the hotel desk clerk neglected to tell him that the water was shut off in order to repair the water softener equipment. Then, for the perfect ending to a perfect day, our George simply took towel and soap in hand, went next door to the police station and convinced the officer at the desk he wasn't a candidate for a cell but merely wished to use the water. Oh well, all in a day's work!

Welcome Back: Ben Kleinstein has returned to his job in the engineering department after spend- ing a year and a half in Israel. While in Is- rael he worked on activation analysis in the ; nuclear chemistry department of a research or- ganization. The experiences of living in this : young and dynamic country were very rewarding and memorable ones for Ben and his family. Andy Guild and his wife have returned from a very F relaxing five week vacation iii cermany.
