- Since such assignments are in certain instances subject to additional technical and operation limitations, it is necessary that each application also include precise information concerning transmitter output power, type and directional characteristics, if any, of the antenna, and the minimum necessary hours of operation. (This section is not applicable to the Radiolocation Service, subpart F of this part.) 26. Section 90.264 is amended by revising paragraph (h) to read as follows: § 90.266 Disaster communications between 2 and 10 MHz. * * * * * (h) Training exercises which require use of these frequencies for more than seven hours a week, cumulative, are not authorized without prior written approval from the Commission. 27. Section 90.303 is amended by revising the table

- Long Distance Communications In the Public Safety Pool Frequency Table, the use of frequencies in the band 2000 to 10,000 kHz (i.e., 2-10 MHz) is restricted to disaster communications and operational communications circuits are expressly prohibited. Only the central governments of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. insular areas are eligible to use this spectrum. Section 90.264, inter alia, restricts disaster communications to those bands between 2 and 10 MHz that are allocated to the FS and LMS. By Public Notice, the Commission specified 28 carrier frequencies and their associated assigned frequencies as available for use in accordance with Section 90.264 for disaster communications between 2 and 10 MHz. The use of these 28 disaster frequencies is

In addition, a Public Notice titled ``Local Government Radio Service 2 to 10 MHz Frequency List'' states that certain of the frequencies within the bands 2194-2495 kHz, 2505-2850 kHz, 5005-5450 kHz, and 7400-8100 kHz are available for use in accordance with Section 90.264. 47 C.F.R. §§ 90.264, 90.266. 47 C.F.R. § 25.202(a)(3). These bands have recently been added to Part 27 of the Commission's Rules.
